Born out of the need to use energy efficient lighting but not wanting to display the
ugly bulbs associated with this, I created a light shade that hides the fitting and bulb
within the shape. Made in New Zealand from recyclable polypropylene plastic, the
warm glow from the different layers of material creates a spectacular array of patterns
available in a large range of colours. Being influenced by nature and living by the sea
all my life, the form took inspiration from the Nautilus seashell. Best of all, the lamp is
designed to hang from existing down light fittings commonly found in most homes.
You can fit it yourself and don’t need an electrician to wire it.

This is really lovely. I
This is really lovely. I wish it could be made from recycled polypropylene; that would make it even better. I wonder if the colors could be even more customized, with multiple colors in one lamp. Does the consumer do the assembly?
beautiful! I like how
beautiful! I like how organic they feel, and the variation in size and color enhances the custom feel.
