PARAHINGE chair / table

My goal with this piece was to propose a chair using a hinge geometry I developed that could parametrically drive the overall design. Since a chair should directly relate to the body, hinge location would be set based on the specific dimensions of the user. These data points are placed in 3D space and then surfaces are made to blend to the intended associations. This technology can be applied to material to fulfill various functional requirements including tables and storage solutions.
This piece is shown nested on one 4’x8’ X 0.5“ sheet stock. A hinge system integrated into the overall geometry allows the laminations to be cut while in the folded position, taking full advantage of common line cutting.
This is a multi-use piece of furniture as it becomes a side table when folded.

I like the figures and
I like the figures and angles you create, but they don't appear complementary to the human form. Low seat with a sharp angle. Table's nice, though.
I think that concealable
I think that concealable furnishings will have a big impact in the future. Maximizing space and creating a versatile environment is always useful.(remember the room at rest concept during the 18th century) Great design.
