This is queen size bed that can be disassembled and carried through a door way easily by one person. No screws, tools, or attachments are necessary. The bed is made from FSC certified plywood and is shown here in Formica Brand 'Ebony'.

Awesome...how sturdy is this

Awesome...how sturdy is this thing after a good shake and bake?

this is far from an

this is far from an extrapolation; more like design a bed using an interlocking system. Alright! I'm done and it only took me 2.3 seconds to whip up something that looks like a bed.

Aren't flexible platforms

Aren't flexible platforms the foundation of mass-customization models? - I can't say for sure but these guys at MIT seem to think so:
http://web.mit.edu/mitpep/pi/courses/product_family_design.html
This class of MIT's Professional Education Program may be interesting for some of you, as it teaches some of the fundamentals of a mass customization strategy: the ability to deploy and manage a family of products in a competitive manner. The class will examine both strategic as well as implementation aspects of this challenge. A key strategy is to develop and manufacture a family of product variants derived from a common platform and/or modular architecture. Reuse of components, processes and design solutions can lead to advantages in learning curves and economies of scale, which have to be carefully balanced against the desire for product customization and competitive pressures. Latest theory, methods and tools in this field will be presented as well as a number of case studies from industries that have successfully leveraged platforms. Recent strategic issues such as embedding flexibility in product platforms as well as the effect of platforming on a firm's cost structure will also be presented.

this looks like it would sag

this looks like it would sag and fail structurally!

A genuinely solid

A genuinely solid extrapolation of a universal interlocking system born of a solid design foundation and so ushering in a wide spectrum of possibilities throughout the furniture domain. Very fine.

nice, the lower image is

nice, the lower image is compelling. I think this larger scale product makes the interlocking feature less cumbersome and more appealing (rather than in your chairs.)
my concern would be the hardware-free assembly of beds specifically. A bed will take a beating during it's life. It will often need to be adjusted to prevent squeaking and wobbling. It might make a nice guest bed, assemble when they arrive, easy storage, breakdown/transform into secondary product (sofa).?..

just curious, what is the top bed platform... is it one large sheet or a series of boards?

This bed is stained plywood

This bed is stained plywood not very good looking.

Silly. My rendering fooled

Silly. My rendering fooled you. - However, the image map file i used was an actual picture of Formica Brand Ebony laminate - so your doubly wrong about the plywood comment. The looks, i guess, are up to you.

where did you read that? i

where did you read that? i read that it has Formica brand laminate on it

finally an adult bed in this

finally an adult bed in this competition with some design charisma!
