can't really tell what's
can't really tell what's going on here.
i find the whole ____ on
i find the whole ____ on casters idea to be wholey derivative and aside from that i can't actually see any of the proposed design, save for the plain box section, from this cat's eye view.
"Stupid bed" ?? "Way too
"Stupid bed" ?? "Way too much time" ?? Such a comment exemplifies why anonymous attacks should not be allowed. That is not a critique, it is bashing.
Now, to the bed. This is simple, clean and, as someone who is responsible for household maintenance, a welcome design not only for sleepers but others.
While the previous comment
While the previous comment might be a little strong and even juvenile, I think that the bed is lacking refinement. I also believe that the bed might not explore the real focus at hand, mass customization. Yes, beds do come in different sizes, but what is shown is nothing super inovative and I am not sure what is customizable. The other issue that I personally have with the bed was also mentioned by the alleged “attacker”; you can not see a decent view of the bed. Yeah it has a caster and pine skirt, which is all that I can see clearly. We can not see how it would work in space. What does the galvanized headboard really look like? What are the proportions like? Lastly, the voting is a bit strange. Yes the bed has been on the website for a while but it has over 100 more votes than any of the others.
The large number of votes
The large number of votes comes from the large number of friends that are dedicated. As soon as I posted the bed to the site, I sent out an email to over 400 people asking them to vote everyday. I also posted to facebook and sent out messages on myspace. Jan 15 to Mar 25 is 10 weeks, 7 days per week = 70 votes. Say you did not have 400 people in your address book. Say it was 1 parent, 1 sibling, 1 good friend, significant other and your that all voted diligently every day. 5 x 70 votes = 350 votes. So you can see it is not that hard to get a few votes.
There are very few pictures of this bed. It was moved from MI to IL and was damaged in the move. I am currently in MI and have not had a chance to go back to IL to take additional pictures. Also, If I remember correctly, I thought we could only attach 1 picture. It has been awhile so I could be wrong.
What is customizable is a good question. Consumers could have a choice to have the bed with or without lighting, with or without side skirts, sideskirts that have customized router work (the router work would allow the light from the bottom side of the bed to come through), different colored lights underneath or behind the head board, removable headboard, custom headboard designs that could be router cut to match the side skirt, with or with out wheels, various levels of height off the floor....so it is like any other design...if you can think it up, it should be able to be customized.
I think that you and your
I think that you and your friends have way to much time to vote on your stupid bed that you can't really even see a decent view of. good work.
